Unit 7 Blog

Honestly, My meditative practices for the week have been very poor. I have fallen behind on my school work that and my free time has been spent trying to complete missing assignments. I am very disappointed in myself for not finding the time to do the exercise. I am also upset because i will not be able to listen to track four on the CD because the bag that held my lab top and CD was stolen right out of my car. So our other text book was also stolen from me. Good thing it is not the main one that we use. Based on the post of my peers i am focused on actually applying the practices into my daily routine. I feel like have been procrastinating because i remember stating that i would do this awhile ago. Oh well, better to keep trying than to not try at all.

I believe that the saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" implies that one cannot preach to others about something that he/ she does not practice or believe in. In the health and wellness profession a health instructor cannot advise clients to eat healthy when he himself does not eat healthy and is obese. The clients will not take him seriously and they will use him as an excuse not to follow through in making healthy decisions in their lives. I think that if you are in the field, you do have an obligation to clients to develop psychologically, physically, and spiritually becasue one they are looking up to you and you need to motivate them to become better in all aspects of their lives. I think that in order to implement psychological and spiritual growth into my personal life i would have to meditate and practice the exercises loving kindness and the subtle mind.
